Monster 'The Doctor' Review
Overall: 5/10
The reason I've scored this so low is because personally I don't like the taste as to me it has too much orange and it is a bit to powerful for me. However, I know people who really like this and others who don't, so don't look at the score I've given it as you may really like it if you like Lilt and other drinks with that taste but more powerful. The Doctor is just as unhealthy as any other monster and looks just as cool too. It really just comes down to the taste.
Looks: 7.5/10
As like many monsters, this variation is vibrant and looks great. The can is vibrant yellow like the Ultra Citron monster only this yellow is slightly darker which I like. The can is also slightly engraved making it rough to touch like the 'ultra' range which is a little detail I love. Another feature I like is the fact that the top of the can is black rather than the usual silver, as is the ring pull. I like the interesting sun and moon image under the monster logo, though I wouldn't say it adds to the drink's looks. Like all monsters, on the side there is a little paragraph from monster, which is at the bottom of the post. As cringey as these paragraphs are, I like them as they add a sense of personality to the drink almost. The colour of the drink itself is yellow but almost with a hint of green in my opinion. There's nothing exactly wrong with the colour of the drink I just think that it looks a bit off.
Flavour: 5.5/10
The taste of The Doctor is very citrusy with strong flavours of lemon and orange coming through. However, in my opinion it tastes too strong as I think this flavour should maybe be a little more subtle, and the flavour itself although in theory it sounds delicious, to me tastes to much like orange peel, and I simply don't find it that great. I don't find it truly awful and I wouldn't protest to having it again as it is quite refreshing for a hot day in the sun. Only, if I did, I'd consider watering it down a little to make the flavour more subtle. Now, each to their own, as many like the taste, and how powerful it is. So, if you like strong citrus flavours, you may well like this. For me, meanwhile, I don't think they've quite got the taste right.
Price: 5/10
The Doctor cost me £1.19 like almost every other monster. However, I know that in some shops monsters can range from £1.00 to £1.49 with prices going even higher sometimes in places like London. Either way, The Doctor will cost you the same as any other monster. This means that it isn't over expensive, but doesn't make it cheap either as no monster is. If you want something really cheap, don't get monster at all, but if you want to get a monster, don't think you'll pay any extra for The Doctor.
Healthiness: 2/10
This is an energy drink, so it'll never be healthy. Add the fact it's a monster and you can't expect anything higher than a 2 on the healthiness scale. The monster ultra range might get to a 4 as they're zero sugar but that's at a push! Like any other monster, The Doctor has large amounts of sugar, caffeine and vitamin B, but it has no more than any other monster on the market.
